Cyclone Evan - Vuda Marina Fiji

A few pics of the aftermath of Evan, A category 5 cyclone that came through the marina a few days ago.

Leaves blown with such force they stick to anything!!

The boat next to us attached his mooring line to this tree!!

Enough wind to blow this yacht off its supports!

Blown sideways in the 'grave'!

Damaged by boats being blown back on to the deck.

The seafront Bure survived intact apart from the big flagpole through the roof!

Some silly people not taking their sails down - an expensive mistake!

We were lucky in that the boats suffered minimal damage overall.
Listening to the locals talk about their roofs, kitchens, bathrooms and in some cases the whole house being blown away, we realize how lucky we were.

Next trip we are off to Vanuatu to climb a live volcano - keep tuned!!
